Two Charts on ebay's new auction listing fees starting April 1, 2010

The first chart below is for the new auction listing rates for ebay sellers who do not have an ebay store (btw, if you click on the image of the chart, it will bring up a larger easier to read image.):

The second chart is of the new auction listing rates for ebay sellers who subscribe to a store:

The Basic Store is $15.95 per month. Fixed price listings in the Basic Store will be 20¢ per listing beginning in April. They have been from 3¢ to 10¢ in the stores depending on the price of the item. In the Premium Store which is $49.95 per month the Fixed price listings will be 5¢ each. In the Anchor Store, which is $299.95 per month, the Fixed price listings are 3¢ each.

Ebay is promoting the new fees are being decreases. Some sellers will be able to lower their monthly fees but others will find that their fees will increase, especially if they don't read all of the new rules closely and they don't make changes by March 30.

Beginning in April the charge for Fixed Price listings for sellers who do not have a store will be 50¢ each which is an increase of 15¢ per listing. The only sellers who will have the ability to list for 3¢ each will be those who pay for an Anchor store.

OTOH all listings, store and what was called Fixed Price Core, will be entered into the search results on ebay.

The results of these changes on individual sellers will vary depending on how much  a seller lists and in what formats. Also, it is unknown what the results will be of having everything entered into the search results. Currently according to the medved charts, there are from forty million to forty-six million listings on ebay, not including stores. When stores are included in search results, that number could be much higher. The increased number of listings could make it harder for some sellers to sell because their listings might be buried but could make it easier for other sellers to sell by having their listings show up in search.

So we'll see what happens starting April 1. It should be interesting!
