My Panera Bread Morning
I needed to treat myself to something special this morning so I took myself out for breakfast to a local Panera Bread café. They have wonderful little soufflés, four different kinds. I had the one with artichokes and spinach. A beautiful little thing with a creamy interior and a lovely browned crisp top. It isn't sweet but it is so charming to look at and so much fun to eat that it is like a dessert. The total for coffee, soufflé, and orange juice came to $7.09 which seems like a lot to me but some mornings, maybe all mornings, I am definitely worth it!
I took some photos of my breakfast as a means of fulfilling my "Daily Photo" routine that I would like to get into. The thing for me is that I have to get past that idea that every photo has to be a great photo. I can do photos for fun too. They don't all have to be fine art. I certainly know that they are not all fine art. The ones that are for fun are worthwhile too. If only to get me thinking about taking pictures and getting the camera out and using it.
Then I took myself shopping to Target. I love their TV ads. They have a great advertising agency. I always enjoy their ads. Thus I do not understand why I have such a hard time finding clothes that look good on me when I shop in their store! Why is that? After watching their ads I expect to find wonderful garments that will tempt me to buy them in every few feet of the store aisle but such is not the case! I do not understand!
I can find tee shirts. That is what I buy there. Many nice soft comfortable reasonably priced tee shirts. The dresses would look ludicrous on me. The pants would not fit my figure. I can't even find good running or walking shoes there. They usually have a very small selection of them or the ones that they do have are too uncomfortable to wear. I don't get it! They need to put the folks who do their ads in charge ot what they buy to stock their store! Assuming that the brilliant minds that come up with the ads also understand the ins and outs of stocking a store.
From the ads I get the impression of a store that is filled to the brim with stuff that I won't want to live without. But when I shop there, I come away with maybe $100 worth of tee shirts. This is consistent. Sometimes I find some comfortable underwear. I would like to find some great dresses, pants, shorts, skirts. Today I did find an over the shoulder hobo type bag that was neat for $9.99. It was the only one of its type there.
So that was my morning. Thank you for visiting. Oh, and by the way, I am not that fond of Panera coffee. It is passable but acidic. If it weren't for the soufflé, they wouldn't have had me as a customer today. The soufflé is great!
